These baskets are originally hand made from Uganda in a traditional way using only traditional tools with best raw materials like millet straw or raffia from Western region.

The finished goods are used for keeping vegetables and fruits and keep food hot at the same time.

The small baskets are used as parking materials for gifts and can also be used for serving bread.

2 - Nubian tabaga

Nubian tabaga

These Nubian Tabaga are originally hand made with traditional tools and traditional materials:
young papyrus straw, jafu and disi from North and Central region.
These finished tabaga can be used for serving fruits and keeping vegetables.
They are also used on special occasions like traditional weddings to put gifts for the brides.
Also they can be used for decoration or as table mats.

They are made the same way and with the same materials as tabagas.

The finished goods are used for serving on special
occasions like traditional wedding ceremonies where the aunt has
to offer one to the bride for serving her husband, laws and respected people.

They are decorative and they can keep food hot and protect it from insects.

They are used as linen or ordering baskets or, for the small ones, as hand bag.

Also handmade with traditional tools, the materials are natural but different: banana straws and fibre and njulu from Rakai District in the south west of Uganda.
The finished goods are used for keeping vegetables and fruits and keep food hot.
The small natural coffee baskets are used as packing for gifts and can also be used for serving bread.
